LOS ANGELES -- When the American Advertising Federation recognized this year's best in advertising, Scott Watters received an ADDY award...or three.

Watters, who founded Watters Edge Design in Santa Clarita, entered work in three categories and won three Los Angeles regional 2010 ADDY awards -- for a vehicle wrap, a brochure and a corporate identity pack.

"It's a great honor to be recognized by the ADDY awards," Watters said. "Clients love the awards on their office walls. The competition was really tough. We were up against everyone in the L.A. area, including all the large corporations and big ad agencies."

The ADDY awards, billed as "the world's largest and arguably the toughest advertising competition," judges more than 60,000 entries each year.

The ADDYs recognize creative excellence in advertising, graphic design and Web design, in the elements of advertising, illustration and photography.

Since 2004, Watters and his studio have won 15 ADDY awards, not counting this year's trophies.

Watters Edge is a comprehensive design firm, serving clients in the Santa Clarita Valley, Bakersfield and Fresno.

Past clients of Watters Edge include Craftsman, Sears, Costco and Lowe's.

Prior to establishing his own studio, Watters was the creative director at Earthlink Networks Inc.
